I'm watching the inauguration and wanted to post as I watch. 44th President Barak Obama...First African American President. 10:49am - Rick Warren is praying...He said "God." On September 20, 2008 I lost my first grandparent. Grandpa (David) Bowers passed away this past weekend due largely in part to a failing physical body that had been attacked by dementia over the past 7-8 years. Saturday's workshop with Vernon and Charlene Armitage went better than I expected. You always wonder how church members are going to react to something that will bring about change to the church. Those in attendance that day (mostly staff and people on church ministry teams) were very receptive to the Biblical mandate of Ephesians 4. I'm excited to see how God will work in our church.

It's always a sad day when we have to say goodbye to a friend. Just yesterday I had to regrettably say farewell to a close buddy I've had over the past 2 1/2 years. My youngest brother Kyle recently participated in the state track meet in Wichita. He made it in the javelin and although he didn't do as well as he would like, he still made us all very proud. Kyle had a great year athletically. He was first team all-league punter, first team all-league in basketball, and made it to state in javelin. Way to go Kyle! I'm very proud of you.
